Abstract

PURPOSE:To commonly use an optical system for copying also for transmission read-in mode, by providing the means changing the optical path of a part of rays and solidstate scanning elements for read-in with equal magnification as a sensor receiving the rays from optical paths changed, between an image former and an image forming plane. CONSTITUTION:Mirrors 8, 9, 10 which expose the light image of an original 1' to a photosensitive drum 7 and the light source of an optical system having a lens 11 are reciprocated. Further, the image of the photosensitive drum 7 is developed and copied on a copy paper to obtain a copy. In this case, a reflection mirror 13 is placed on an image plane 7' or on the way of optical path to the photosensitive drum 7, from a lens 11 of a scanning optical system 12, so that a part of rays on the image plane 7 or 7' can be reflected on a sensor 4. Thus, the copying and facsimile transmission can be made by using the copying lenses without requiring an optical reducing system.
