Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an easily adjustable equipment that requires only a small installation area and allows a large range of adjustment for differential pressure between each individual flush chamber by a method wherein the flush chambers are vertically stacked in the water making equipment.
CONSTITUTION: Seawater is supplied to the treatment columns A, B having multiple flush chambers 1W14 stacked vertically. Brine in the lowest stage 14 in the downstream is sent by a brine pump 21 into a brine heater 17 via each condenser 15 in the flush chambers. Heated brine (a) is supplied to the tompost flush chamber 1 in the upstream. Each flush chamber and each product tray 16 are connected via flow regulator 18, etc. installed therebetween. The lowest stage 7 in the upstream treating column A is connected to the topmost stage 8 in the downstream treating column B via the brine transfer pump 19 and the product transfer pump 20. Purified water is taken from the product tray 16 in the lowest stage 14 in the downstream.
