Then, the outer periphery of the short-circuit ring 3 is continuously machined, and the open edge 4 is formed. In the case the rotor bars 2 and the short-circuit ring 3 are welded by the open edge, the first layer is welded by rotating it in the direction of the arrow B, and the second layer is welded by rotating it in the direction of arrow C. Thus, the direction of welding is reversed for every layer. In this method, the welded part having no concentration of thermal stress and no residual stress can be obtained.
