Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the quality of the work for extension of a electric wire by a method wherein the tensile force given to a rope and the angle of the part of the electric wire at which the wire touches the reference circle of a pulley to the rotational center of the pulley are measured and the tensile force given to the electric wire is obtained through the operation of both measured values.
CONSTITUTION: The tensile force of the electric wire 12 laid on the pulley 11 is measured by a load cell 14. On the other hand, the pulley 11 is held rotatably in a frame 16 and connected with a potentiometer 22 by a rotary arm 15. Moreover, at the free end of the rotary arm 15 a contact pin 24 is provided, while a coil spring 25 is fitted between the arm 15 and the frame 16 and the contact pin 24 touches constantly the lower surface of the electric wire 12, and 1/2 of a contained angle θ is detected by the potentiometer 22. Accordingly, by conducting the operation based on the signals from the load cell 14 and the potentiometer 22, the extension of the wire can be performed through attainment of the optimum tensile force, whereby the qualitative improvement of the work can be achieved.
