Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively reduce the wave energy as well as make easier the installation of FRP bars by vertically providing them at gradually coarser intervals from the closest toward the farther part of a port structure.
CONSTITUTION: A support metal fitting 1 of L-shape, having a horizontally projected part on its lower part, is fixed to a quay wall by means of a burying bolt 3, etc. A fixing plate 4 with cylindrical holes into which a great number of FRP bars 6 are inserted is placed on the upper side of the projected part of the support metal fitting 1 and then fixed them by a bolt 5. The cylindrical holes of the fixing plate 4 are formed so that the FRP bars 6 can be vertically supported at a gradually coarsened interval from the closest toward the farther part of the quay wall. These cylindrical holes are covered with a fender beam rubber 7 for their upsides and the lower ends of the FRP bars 6 are fitted vertically into the fixing plate 4 to obtain a desired wave-breaking effect.
