Abstract

PURPOSE: To develop and transfer magnetic latent images then open-fixing the same and obtain good images by specifying the thermal characteristics of the resin of the binder constituting the toners and the kind and compounding amount of magnetic powder.
CONSTITUTION: Synthetic or natural resin such as epoxy resin of glass transition point ≥50°C and softening point ≥80°C is selectively used for the binder forming the magnetic toners, depending upon purposes. The mixture composed of 50W 20wt% binder and 50W80% magnetic powder such as Fe3O4 having magnetic characteristics of ≤200 Oe in coercive force is kneaded and ground, thence those of averge 10W25μ in grain size are classified. This yields the open-fixing magnetic toners having proper resistance value.
