Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the image forming member which is of all environmental type, is superior in light-resistant fatigue and is free from deterioration phenomena by forming its charge generating layer by amorphous hydrogenated silicon and making the thickness of the blocking layer to be laminated thereon less than the thickness of the charge generating layer.
CONSTITUTION: Amorphous hydrogenated silicon is deposited usually to 0.3W50μ thick on a substrate 102 by a glow discharge method or the like to form a charge generating layer 103. Thence, the organic semiconductor material dissolved or dispersed in a binder material is coated usually to 0.1W5μ thick on the charge generating layer 103 to form a blocking layer 104 and an image forming member 101 is constituted. Here, the blocking layer 104 has a free surface 105. This yields the image forming member for electrophotography which is sufficient in charge holding capacity at the charge treatment for the purpose of electrostatic image formation and hardly causes degradation in characteristics even in a highly moist atmosphere.
