Abstract

PURPOSE: Three components, that is, a specific amine, an epoxy compound and a dialkyl carbonate or four component, including additionally a phenol, are used as a stabilizer to prevent the decomposition of chlorinated hydrocarbons under drastic conditions such as metal product washing.
CONSTITUTION: Three components, that is, an amine such as dicyclohexylamine, an epoxy compound such as allyl glycidyl ether, and a dialkyl carbonate such as dimethyl or diethyl carbonate or four components, including additionally a phenol such as thymol, are used to stabilize chlorinated hydrocarbons. The amounts of each component based on the chlorinated hydrocarbons are 0.001W0.2wt% in the amine, 0.005W0.5wt% in the epoxy compound, 0.005W5wt% in the alkyl carbonate and 0.001W0.5wt% in the phenol. Especially, this stabilizer makes perchloroethylene extremely stable. The complete prohibition of the decomposition prevent sufficiently the corrosion of the washing device and metal products.
