Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a marginal part from being generated at the tip end part of recording paper by a method wherein after a recording is conducted while feeding the recording paper backward, the recording paper is fed forward and cut, in the recorder such as facsimile.
CONSTITUTION: In the stand-by condition, the recording paper 2 is delivered from a roll 1 and its tip end comes to the position of a cutter 4. When a sub-scanning drive unit is actuated by the signal from a recording control unit, the recording paper 2 is fed forward by a length of S-L, where S is the recording sub-scanning length specified and L is the distance between the recording head 3 and the cutter, so that a part of the paper 2 having a length of S is set between the head 3 and the cutter 4. Then, recording is conducted while feeding the paper 2 backward. At this time, feed rollers are OFF. After the completion of the recording, the paper 2 is fed forward by the feed rollers and delivery rollers 5, 5', and the recorded part is cut off by the cutter and delivered into a tray 6.
