Abstract
PURPOSE: To accelerate filtration and to improve peeling of cake in solar drying of sludge, by laying unfolded porous diaphragm on the whole surface of filter layer prior to the inflow of the sludge.
CONSTITUTION: A belt-shaped, reticulated synthetic resin film 6 is unfolded and laid on the filter sand layer 5 at the uppermost filter layer of a solar drying sludge tank 2 from one side to the other side of the circumferential wall. Plural belt-shaped reticulated film 6 are laid in parallel on the whole surface of the filter sand layer 5. Suspending beams 8 having hanging rings 7 on both ends are set up at suitable position on the circumferential hem of the belt-shaped reticulated film 6 so that the beams cross the films in their lateral direction. Sludge is led into the tank 2 and is dehydrated by filtration, and followed by solar evaporation. When a compact sludge layer is formed, the hanging rings 7 are moved a little to form cracks, thereby regenerating the filter effect of the film 6. When the sludge reaches to have a desired moisture content, the top ends of hanging rods 11 of two forklifts 9, 10 are connected to the hanging rings 7 and the cake is peeled by lifting the forks.
