Abstract

PURPOSE: To neutralize and remove the hydrogen chloride contained in the exhaust gas of waste incinceration furnaces by admitting said exhaust gas into a water injection chamer for temperature controlling and lowering the temperature of the gas by injection of water then spraying an aqueous NaOH soln.
CONSTITUTION: The combustion exhaust gas produced from a stoker type waste incineration furnace 1 is cooled to 900W1,000°C by the water injection from the nozzles 3 in the outlet of the incineration furnace. This exhaust gas is admitted into a water injection chamber 4 for gas temperature controlling to lower the temp. of gas until about 300°C by spray of water, thence an aqueous soln. of NaOH is sprayed from nozzles 15 to the thus cooled exhaust gas, whereby the hydrogen chloride contained in the exhaust gas is neutralized and removed. This is passed through a multicyclone 20 and an electric dust collector 22 to be removed of dust, after which it is released into the atmosphere through a smokestack 26.
