Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the magnetic separator which does not cause the compression deformation during the washing operation, by laminating plural matrix elements comprising plural thick wires and thin wires woven perpendicularly each other, so as to form the multistage filter medium in the direction of the liquid flow. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic separator is equipped with the cylinder 22 internally holding the matrix 20 comprising the magnetic medium, the excitative air core coil 24 arranged around the cylinder 22, and the return frame 26 arranged outside the air core coil 24; the feed water is introduced into the cylinder 22, and the magnetic suspensoid of the feed water is caught and removed. The matrix 20 is obtained by plain or twill weaving thick wires 50 and thin wires 52 both made of the magnetic medium possessing the toughness to the extent of being undeformed by pressure of the wash water. This matrix 20 is laminated to form the multistage layers in the direction of the liquid flow.
