Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent derailment of a running wheel for a crane or the like when it receives an impact force in a direction orthogonal to a rail by a method wherein composite members combined with rubber sheets and thin metallic plates are attached to the wheel at positions opposing to side portions of a head of the rail.
CONSTITUTION: Supporting frames 8 are secured to a contructed portion of a wheel body 1 rolling on a rail 5 by bolts and nuts 3 and shock absorbing bodies A are pinched between the supporting frames 8 and the wheel body 1 rigidly by securing forces of said bolts and nuts 3. Said shock absorbing bodies A are composed of thin plates 7 pinched between rubber sheets 2, 6 and metallic plates 9 are fixed to the rubber sheets 6 at portions projecting from the wheel body 1. According to this method, when the wheel body 1 receives impact forces in directions shown by an arrow B, the metallic plates 9 impact side portions of a head of the rail 5, however, these impact forces are absorbed by elastic deformation of the rubber sheets 2, 6 and an accident of derailment may be prevented thereby.
