Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a positive color picture in a simple way from a negative film, by carrying out the process through the inversion of the polarity of the specified color signal among the signals obtained through the image pickup device. CONSTITUTION:The three primary color signals ER, EG and EB obtained from the negative film of the camera main body are applied to the inverting circuits 21-R, 21-G and 21-B corresponding to each of the three primary color signals. In this case, the color signal of the ordinary negative film becomes linear or bluish as a whole through just inversion of the polarity. In this connection, the DC level is converted by the clamping circuits 22-R, 22-G and 22-B each. Then each color signal is applied for compensation to the gamma compensating circuits 23-R, 23-G and 23-B each in order to secure a fitness between the gamma property of the negative film and that of the image pickup tube and the picture receiver. And then the addition and subtraction are carried out among the three color signals and through the matrix circuit 24 since the spectral sensitivity property of the negative film differs from the pickup property of the ordinary NTSC system. Thus the three color signals ER', EG' and EB' suited to the camera main body are obtained.
