Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable printing in a multicolor of marks together with a bar code on a blank label, by a method wherein, when printing a bar code label, a label having a heating and coloring property is used, and a heating elements, whereto an adjusted printing power is applied, is brought into contact with the label. CONSTITUTION:A brand and a firm name 14 are first pressed against a label 1 adhered to a pasteboard 2 by means of a heat plate 10, which protrudes toward the front, and a seat plate 11 for printing the brand 13 and the firm name 14. The label is then fed to a thermal head 8, and is intermittently supplied in synchronism with an applying cycle of a pulse voltage so that a coloring print image overlaps on a printing surface of the label 1 by means of a heat element of the thermal head 8 thereupon. This allows printing of a bar code 15. The label 1, on which the bar code 15, a department 16, and a price 17 are printee by means of the thermal head 8, is peeled from the pasteboard 2 by means of a dispenser 4.
