Abstract

PURPOSE: To automate the mounting operation for the side wall member by a method wherein the side wall member is given continuous tension and automatically molded and supplied so that it can be fitted to the shape of the side part of a toroidal green tire.
CONSTITUTION: By letting the centered side wall member A pass a tension generator K through a brake gear H, the side wall member A is deformed into a shape approximate to that of the side part of the toroidal green tire B. In other words, the cap tread side A1 of the side wall member A comes in contact with a plate 8 and a nearly triangular plate 9 and therefore is subjected to friction greater than that at the bead side A2 and expanded. As a result, the member A is automatically fed and deformed into a shape fitting to the side wall part of the green tire B.
