Abstract

PURPOSE: To realize not only the simplification of constitution but a reduction of the cost, weight and size each for the detector, by detecting the torque generated to the engine by the quantity of charge of the piezoelectric element provided at the mount part and then giving a control to the stored quantity of torque by the control means to decide the increase/decrease of the electric charge.
CONSTITUTION: The output of the piezoelectric element 2 provided at the mount part of an internal combustion engine is supplied to the charge storing means 41. And both the dead-point signal #1TDC on the 1st cylinder and the angle signal θ are supplied to the timing circuit 40, and the analog switch 41b is turned on and off by the charge/discharge control signal (d) to give a control to the charge/discharge of the feedback capacity 41a. Then whether the outptu (f) of the compactor 42 is correct or not is sampled and stored by the sampling signal (g) of the circuit 40 and by the latch circuit 43 and in the prescribed timein. Thus the increase/decrease of torque is decided. Accordingly, the comparison level is always at constant level of 0, and the preceding sampling value is held to elminate the comparision of the sampling value of this time. Thus the constitution can be simplified for the detector.
