Abstract

PURPOSE:To facilitate proper control of knocking by obtaining pulse counter value corresponding to output of a sensor for detecting vibration of an engine and permitting a microcomputer to read out said value in a predetermined timing for correcting ignition timing. CONSTITUTION:Pulse signals SP with pulse width corresponding to the size of output signals S of a vibration sensor for detecting vibration of an engine are generated by a signal processing circuit 27. A counter circuit 28 counts clock pulses CK only for a period corresponding to the pulse width to obtain a counter value N corresponding to the magnitude of knocking. This counter value N is read by a microcomputer of an electronic concentrated engine control system in a predetermined timing to correct ignition timing figured out by the microcomputer corresponding to the counte value N and running condition of the engine. Thus, only by adding a small-scaled correction program, knocking control with high response property and accuracy can be easily carried out.
