Abstract

CONSTITUTION:In performing short circuit transfer type arc welding of extra thin sheets of mild steel, low alloy steel, stainless steel, etc., a consumable electrode wire of 0.2-0.5mm. diameters comprising mild steel, low alloy steel or stainless steel is used. Further, current of 100-400A/mm.<2> in current density is used as welding current. In addition, an argon gas mixed with 1-5% oxygen or an argon gas mixed with 5-25% carbonic acid gas is used as a shielding gas. With this method, the allowances for the gaps and matching of joints become wider and the high-quality welding of extra thin sheets may be readily executed.
