Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive sheet which has good adhesiveness to a substrate and is able to form high-density images free from any stain in the nonimage parts by providing a diazo-base photosensitive film which is more difficult to swell with water than the undercoating layer on a sheetlike substrate provided with a water swellable high polymer film (undercoating layer). CONSTITUTION:An undercoating layer comprising a water swellable high polymer film (a film which swells with water and can be removed when rubbed, for example, a film formed with a vinyl acetate polymer emulsion) of <=2mu thickness is provided on a sheetlike substrate of plastics (polyolefin, polyester, etc.), and a diazo-base photosensitive layer which comprises a water-soluble polymer having alcoholic hydroxyl groups and a water-soluble diazo-base photosensitive agent and has the degree of swelling with water at least smaller than that of the above- mentioned undercoating layer is provided thereon, whereby the photosensitive sheet for forming colored images is obtained.
