Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent wear and damage of brake plate teeth of an electromagnetic brake suck as an electromagnetic hoist, etc. by attaching the brake plate with a shock absorbing member which has on its inner circumference teeth engaging with teeth of a rotor with almost zero clearance.
CONSTITUTION: When a switch is closed and a starter coil 4 and a brake coil 21 of a motor 1 are live, a starter iron core 19 attracts a movable iron core 17 against a resilient member 22. Then a brake plate 11 is released from pressure to permit a rotor shaft 7 to start rotating. The brake plate consists of a core 12 having teeth 12a on its inner circumference, and a friction member 13 molded to an outer edge of the core 12. Desired purpose is obtainable by securing to one side of the said core 12 a shock absorbing member 25 having on its inner circumference teeth 25a engaging with teeth 9a of a rotor 9 with almost zero clearance.
