Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve vibration-proof effect of an engine over a wide range of running thereof by reducing effective spring constant of a resilient member by a hydraulic actuator. CONSTITUTION:An insulator consists of an engine side supporting plate 1, car body side supporting plate 2 and vibration-proof rubbers 5, 6 interconnecting these plates 1, 2. A bellowslike hydraulic actuator 9 supported by stoppers 7, 8 is provided between the vibration-proof rubbers 5, 6 and on both ends 9a, 9b bears against such rubbers 5, 6. Oil pressure changing corresponding to the rotational frequency of the engine is introduced into the hydraulic actuator 9 through a tube 11, and as the rotational frequency of the engine increases the oil pressure also rises to deform yieldingly the vibration-proof rubbers 5, 6. This yielding deformation reduces the effective spring constant of the vibration-proof rubbers so that high frequency vibration from the engine can not be transmitted to the car body.
