Abstract
PURPOSE:To eliminate fruitless electric power consumption by varying a supply voltage to an output element by detecting the mean level of the envelope waveform of the output signal of an electric power circuit and then by discriminating a pulsive music signal from the other sine-wave continuous signals on the basis of the detection result. CONSTITUTION:Acoustic signal S outputted by the voltage amplifying circuit is applied to bases of power transistors TR1 and TR2 of electric power amplifying circuit 1 and, after being power-amplified, is supplied to speaker 2 and envelope detecting circuit 3. This detecting circuit 3 detects one envelope signal waveform from acoustic signal S and applies corresponding envelope signal SE to level detecting circuit 4. Then circuit 4 detects the mean level in terms of the alternating current of the waveform of signal SE and comparator 5 compares mean level signal Sm to threshold voltage Es to discriminate a pulsive music signal from a continuous signal like a sine wave. Next, electric power source circuit 7 is controlled by the output of control circuit 6 to vary a supply voltage to circuit 1, thereby eliminating fruitless electric power consumption.
