Abstract

PURPOSE: To measure the flywheel effect with high precision by a method wherein reflection marks are provided on a rotary body, and the light reflected from the marks is continuously measured and memorized with the lapse of time by using a light emitter and a light receiver.
CONSTITUTION: Rotating speeds N1, Nr, N2 for the rotary body are preset on a memory operating circuit 15 by using digital switches, then the rotary body is decelerated naturally from a rotating speed higher than N1, and measurement is started. From the starting of the measurement, a timer 14 is fed with the rotational pulse signals from an optical system 13, measure the time per one full rotation and outputs it to the circuit 15. The circuit 15 receives the time signals from the timer 14 as a reference input, and feeds an output to the timer 14 when the rotating speed has reached N1, whereby the time T1 elapsed by that moment is outputted to a printer 16 through the circuit 15 and printed. Similarly, T0 and T2 are printed as the rotary body is decelerated. Then, based on the values of T1, T0 and T2, the flywheel effect GD2 is calculated from the equation I.
