Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of the adjusting device by permitting a latch coupled to a seat section to be displaceable in the directions of engagement and disengagement with respect to a meshing member also permitting rotational displacement for height adjustment of the seat according to the operation of a handle lever. CONSTITUTION:A pin 27 is secured to the end of one of pair brackets 12, and a latch 26 which is capable of engagement and disengagement with respect to the pin 27 is secured to a shaft 23 rotatably mounted on a bracket 12. The latch side of the shaft 23 is supported in a slot 24, and its pivotal mounting position is displaceable in the direction of the engagement and disengagement. A handle level 13 is coupled to the shaft 23 via an L-shaped hole 25, and the engagement and disengagement of the latch with respect to the pin 27 can be effected with the displacement of the shaft 23 within the slot 23. Designated at 28 is a handle return spring.
