Abstract
PURPOSE: To enlarge generated microwave attenuation volume and improve measuring accuracy by installing microwave transmitting and receiving antenna on the waveguide at a constant interval and by measuring water contents in the material in the waveguide.
CONSTITUTION: The waveguide 3 is filled with materials being measured, such as granular fluid and cotton paper, which fall down through transmission wave reflection preventing waveguide 1 equipped with wave absorbing material 7 for wave reflection prevention, such as ferrite plate, measuring waveguide 3 equipped with transmitting and receiving antenna 4 and 5 at a constant interval, receiving wave reflection preventing waveguide 2 equipped with wave absorbing material for wave reflection prevention and bent waveguide 6 for continuous flow rate adjustment. Microwave from antenna 4 installed at a constant interval is attenuated in accordance with the water contents in material being measured and received by means of antenna 5 without loss. Therefore, water contents can be measured with high accuracy by said compact and simple device.
