Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve detection sensitivity of nondispersion type infrared ray gas analyzer by arranging for the measuring cell and comparison cell installed between the light source and detector to be rotated by means of the motor. CONSTITUTION:Beam from the light source 1 and 1' passes through the measuring cell 12 and comparison cell 13 into light-receiving room 5 and 5' and infrared rays are absorbed into gas injected in the light-receiving room. Pressure difference arising in the light-receiving rooms 5 and 5' is detected by the condenser/microphone type detectors 6 and 7 and the concentration is indicated through the amplifier on the indicator 22. The measuring cell 12 and comparison cell are rotated by the motor 11 which is supported through bearings 9 and 10 by the light source block 2 and detector block 4. N2 gas which absorbs no infrared rays is introduced into the comparison cell 13, while measuring gas into the measuring cell 12 through guide passage 14 and discharge passage 15. With the rotation of both cells 12 and 13, pressure variations of light-receiving chambers 5 and 5' are reversed in phase and pressure difference is twice as much as that of the conventional stationary type device, thereby enhancing detection sensitivity.
