Abstract

PURPOSE:To assure the magnetization of a desired specific portion of a cathode-ray tube without imparing the surface thereof by constructing a part of a magnetizing head so as to allow said head to contact with, press and magnetize portions other than the magnetic portions of said tube. CONSTITUTION:As a holder 8 for fixing a magnetic portion 6 above a neck 3, is used for example a pipelike member having a flange 81 provided on an end thereof, while a magnetizing head 7 is provided with a guide 71, which slides on the flange 81. When magnetizing the magnetic portion 6, the guide 71 pushes the flange 81 to the center between tubes of the neck 3, and, at the same time, the integrated body of the guide 71 and the magnetizing head 7 rotates around the flange 81 and the magnetic portion 6, whereby a necessary magnetization of the magnetic portion 6 is performed. With the above method, the magnetizing head can smoothly rotate without causing it to slip off from the holder for the magnetic portion, thus preventing the surface of the magnetic portion from being damaged and simultaneously the magnetizing head from being deformed and worn out.
