Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain sufficient mold strength without jolt operation and prevent the occurrence of pollution by flowing high-pressure air among the molding sand particles in the molding cavity thereby performing ramming of the molding sand.
CONSTITUTION: After a required amount of molding sand is charged into the molding cavity, the top end surface of a filling flask 11 is abutted on the bottom end surface of a high-pressure air feeder 13 to lead high-pressure air into the cavity 15 through a feed port 17. The high-pressure air is injected through fine holes 16 into the sand packed in the molding cavity and flows at a high velocity among the molding sand particles toward vent holes 8, 7. By the acting force of this air, the respective molding sand particles receive pressing force and move toward the pattern device surface side. Next, the high-pressure air feeder 13 and filling flask 11 are retreated and a compressing plate device 14 is abutted on the top end surface of an ingot 10, thence the bottom surface of a squeeze plate 18 is abutted and fixed to the top surface of the molding surface. Next, the ramming of the molding sand is performed by the operation of an elevating cylinder 1.
