Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a pattern with novel sense, by a method wherein a number of dotlike pressed dimples are applied on a surface of an aluminum substrate and, after softening treatment, micro-etching treatment is carried out.
CONSTITUTION: A decorative pattern with novel sense is applied on a surface of an aluminum substrate. As an aluminum substrate, other than aluminum, for example, an alloy material such as an Al-Cu type or Al-Mn type is included. On a surface of these substrates, a number of dotlike pressed dimples are formed by a roller or a press mold. The softening treatment is carried out in order to recrystallize the aluminum substrate, for example, at 400W630°C for 1W24hr. Subsequently, according to necessity, polishing treatment is carried out and, thereafter, micro-etching treatment is carried out. For example, a solution of HCl, NHO3 or HF is coated on a surface of a substrate and, after standing for 1W3min., the coated substrate is washed by water, immersed in a chromic acid solution to remove scales, washed with water and dried.
