Abstract
PURPOSE:To print in a constant density by providing a means for measuring the resistance of a predetermined section in the thermal head and a means for controlling the energy applied to each resistance element, in accordance with the measured value, so as to maintain the energy at a fixed level, in the titled recording device. CONSTITUTION:The thermal head 1 of the thermal recording device used for facsimiles, printers and the like consists of an insulated substrate 2, resistance heating elements 3 arranged in a line, etc. The measuring terminals 8a, 8b for measuring the resistance are fitted at both ends of the line of the resistance heating elements 3 in the device, and a measuring circuit 9 is provided for measuring the resistance Rab between the measuring terminals 8a, 8b. Further, an output controlling circuit 10 is provided for controlling the pulse voltage of the picture bit data outputted from a register 7, in accordance with the resistance Rab measured by the circuit 9, so as to maintain the energy of the recording pulse impressed on the resistance elements 3 at a fixed level.
