Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of measured value by mixing the material to be reacted which is caused to react by the specific enzyme with the specimen in a reaction vessel, measuring its rate of reaction through irradiation of light, adding a decoloring agent thereto and further measuring its optical characteristics. CONSTITUTION:A reaction initiating reagent liquid is added from a dispenser 4 to a reaction vessel 1. Thence, light from a light source 21 is irradiated to the reaction vessel transferred to a measuring position 7. The amount of the change in absorbancy at the predetermined time intervals is measured with a photometer 6 and the value of enzyme activity is stored in a data processing unit 17. Next, when the reaction vessel 1 is transferred to a decoloring agent adding position 16, a decoloring agent is added from a dispenser 10 into the reaction vessel 1. Thence, the reaction vessel 1 is sent to a photometric position 14, where the absorbancy of the mixed liquid after decoloring is measured. This absorbancy is compared with the absorbancy in the photometric position, and the enzyme acitivity value is displayed in a printer 18.
