Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a small-sized device without causing a locking between a carriage and a cam and seizure of a motor by a method wherein one round circumferential cams are provided at both ends of the screw cam for moving the carriage in a printer in which a printing is effected by reciprocating the carriage with the cam.
CONSTITUTION: A carriage 2 having a pin engaging with a screw cam of a driving shaft 1 is moved when the driving shaft 1 is rotated by a revolution of a motor 7. After a predetermined printing is finished, the driving shaft A is rotated into E a direction A, then, the carriage 2 is moved to a direction D and an electric source is cut off by a position detecting signal at a position before moving into a one round cam. Then, the pin of the carriage 2 is moved from a position (a), is entered into the one round cam through positions (b), (c) and is brought to a position (d). If the rotation of the driving shaft 1 is not stopped immediately, the carriage 2 will continue to revolve on the one round cam and will never be locked. Next, when the driving shaft 1 is rotated into a direction B, the pin of the carriage 2 receives a force P by a spring 8 and is entered into the screw cam from the one round cam, then, is moved to a direction E.
