Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the stagnation of bubbles on the surface of electrode and diaphragm and to improve the operational property, by equipping plural electrode room descent flowing tubes directly connected with gas-liquid separation vessel and providing the tip exit part on the lower part of the electrode room, at the electrolytic bath of alkali metal aqueous solution having the gas-liquid separation vessel on the upper part of the diaphragm electrolytic bath. CONSTITUTION:Seven electrodes room descent flowing tubes 3, 3' are connected with each gas-liquid separators 1, 2 of anode and cathode rooms side and the anode 6 and cathode 7, are provided by using the electrode room frame body 4 without connecting the tip exit parts 5, 5' of the flowing tube with the bottom of the body 4. Alkali metal aqueous solution is introduced from the supply opening 12 and is discharged from the outlet 13. Bubbles of chlorine generated at the anode 6, are raised between the anode and diaphragm and are separated in the gas-liquid separator through the connecting opening 15 and then, are discharged from the outlet 16. On the one hand, hydrogen gas generated on the cathode is separated in the gas- liquid separator and is discharged from the outlet 19.
