Abstract

PURPOSE: To automate each working process, and to easily obtain the metallic material beautifully wound with the metallic tape, by spot welding the forefront tip of the metallic tape to the metallic material, by rotating the metallic material so as to be wound with the metallic tape, and by seam welding the terminal end of the tape.
CONSTITUTION: The metallic material 6 is introduced into the apparatus, and the metallic tape T is sent out of the tape feeder 26, and the tip of the metallic tape T reaches the metallic material 6. Then, each pushing roll 24 is moved forward so as to clamp the tip of the metallic tape T between the pushing roll 24 and the metallic material 6. Electrodes 25, 27, are moved forward and a specified electric current is supplied to electrodes 25, 27; hereby, the tip of the metallic tape T is spot welded to the metallic material 6. Next, the chuck of the tape feeder 26 is released and the metallic material 6 is rotated; hereby, the metallic tape T is wound around the outer surface of the metallic material 6. The rotation of the metallic material 6 is once stopped after turning a specified angle, and the tape T is cut by the cutter of the tape feeder 26. Following to this, the terminal end of the tape T is shifted to the position of the spot welding electrode 27 and is spot welded to the base metal; after that, the seam welding electrode 28 is respectively set at the position of the weld line between the metallic material 6 and the tape T. The electric current is supplied across the electrode 25 and 28 for performing the seam welding.
