Abstract
PURPOSE:To remove P of molten iron of particularly high Cr and Mn by adding the flux comprising iron fluoride, manganese chloride, chromium chloride, etc. and CaO to the molten iron alloy. CONSTITUTION:The contents of one or two or more kinds of the iron fluoride, manganese chloride, chromium chloride and chromium fluoride in flux are kept at such a degree at which CaO may be slagged and the content of CaO is made about 20-60% (particularly 30-50%) in wt%. The more the amount of the flux used in the molten iron, the higher the dephosphorizing capacity, but it is added at about 10-250kg per ton of molten iron in consideration for workability. These are stirred well in order to increase the efficiency of reaction with the phosphorus to be removed and the treating temperature is made 1,250-1,358 deg.C.
