PURPOSE:To obtain a number of thin film magnetic heads suitable for batch processing with high efficiency, by unifying the protection patch plate having holes on the specified position, with the substrate bonding a number of thin film magnetic head elements through bonding, and cutting and polishing it. CONSTITUTION:A number of thin film magnetic head elements 12 are bonded on the substrate 11. The elements 12 on the substrate 11 are bonded at a bundle by using the protection patch plate 10 having through-holes 15 so that the terminal 13 of the conductor of magnetic head elements 12 can be exposed. This bonded body is cut off and polished to obtain a number of thin film magnetic heads.
