Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent the slackening and separation of the subject mechanism as well as to improve the workability and reliability by a method wherein only those pipes which are in the peripheral portion of a pipe group and applied with larger axial load, among the assembly of cooling pipes and tube plates of a condenser in a power generation plant or the like, are fixed by welding and the others are fixed by pipe expanding method.
CONSTITUTION: In the arrangement of cooling pipes of a condernser, the shaded portion (a) is a region where larger tensile loads are applied, so that the tube plates and the cooling pipes in this region are fixed by welding. On the other hand, the pipes in region (b) are fixed only by pipe expanding method, since smaller loads are applied in this region. Accordingly, the welding amount can be reduced largely, the fixing at the portions subjected to larger loads can be made rigid, and the slackening and separation of the tube plates and cooling pipes can be prevented, resulting in improved workability and reliability of the mechanism.
