Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate runout of a wheel shaft by using a wheel having valves on its outer periphery and a shaft having an extra large diameter for a water wheel and making them free with respect to each other without fixing.
CONSTITUTION: A wheel has a coreless bar 8 in that, unlike the ordinary wheel, no center shaft is directly press-fitted, bound or welded to any end of the wheel body from the outside. A shaft 12 of an extra large diameter is used as a center shaft. As this diameter is finished to almost the same as that of the otherwise normal cored bar, a shaft of the same diameter as the shaft 12 is capable of being run through the center of the wheel along its entire length. The net result is its comparable rigidity to that of the wheel having a fixed center shaft.
