Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a controlling device for the combustion of gas of high reliability and safety by a method wherein the characteristics are stabilized by shortening the time required for detecting ignition through utilization of a thermocouple and the fail safe property on a circuit capable of removing a danger of trouble in any components is further improved. CONSTITUTION:A flame detecting circuit 30 performs detection of ignition and accidental fire in a very short time according to a slight change in voltage despite a comparatively slow speed of response of the thermal electromotive force. Moreover, under the condition that some component is in trouble and thus a transistor 53 is turned on soon after the start of operation of an operational switch 8, the frame detecting circuit 30 prevents such danger as the release of raw gas, because a relay 57 can not work even by the electric current flowing through a resistance 54 after the start of operation of the operational switch 8 and thereby the contact points 58 and 18 of the relay 57 remain positioned on the side of constantly-closed contact points in the same way as at the detection of accidental fire. This is because the comparatively large resistance value is selected for the resistance 54.
