Abstract

PURPOSE: To generate a circulating stream in low energy as well as to obtain a high aeration effect by arranging a water wheel at an upper portion of a tank and circulating the water to be treated in a tank by said water wheel.
CONSTITUTION: A water wheel 9 having scoop-up plate 10 is arranged above a water surface in a water tank 1 and a partition plate 5 is provided in the water tank so as to form a circulating water passage and, moreover, contact members 6 are filled in the water tank in a condition inhibiting said contact members 6 from being moved. In this constitution, the water wheel 9 is rotated due to the rotation of a motor 12 and the water in the water tank is drawn up to a direction of an arrow 3 by the scoop-up plates 10 and circulated therein. Then, the water to be treated is circulated through the contact members made from a laminated net 15 of a hard polyethylene and subjected to the decomposition treatment by microorganisms.
