Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the efficiency of the induction motor at the time of high speed by providing a limiter between a speed detector and a subtractor when controlling the speed of the motor under the primary voltage control. CONSTITUTION:A thyristor 3 and a contactor 4 are provided between a three- phase power source 1 and an induction motor 2 for driving a passenger cage or the like. The rotational speed of the motor 2 is detected by the detector 5, is then applied to the subtractor 7 together with an output signal from a speed reference generator 6 through the limiter 19, and the difference signal therebetween controls the contactor 4 through the thyristor 3 and a logic circuit 10. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent the output signal 6a from the generator 6 from becoming lower than a speed signal 5a from the detector 5 even in light load at the time of high speed operation, and a powering mode of the motor can be resultantly continued without switching the logic circuit 10. A full voltage may be thereby applied to the motor to rotate the motor at high speed, and the efficiency of the motor can be consequently raised at the time of high speed operation.
