PURPOSE: An attractant, capable of exciting both a male and a female, luring them from a hiding place thereof, and moving them around the attractant vigorously, and comprising a monoterpenoid compound, e.g. (+)-trans-verbanone etc. as an active constituent.
CONSTITUTION: A cockroach attractant comprising at least one monoterpenoid compound selected from (+)-trans-verbanone of formula I, (+)-cis-verbanone of formula II, (-)-pinocarvone of formula III and (+)-3-methylenenopinone of formula IV as an active constituent. 0.5W2mg of the attractant is sufficiently used. The compounds of formulas I and IV are both synthesized from β-pinene, and the compounds of formulas II and III are synthesized from α-pinene.
