Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a recorded picture image having a gradation, by a method wherein, in the subject recording method for recording a half tone image, a liquid drop separating frequency, produced when ink liquid drops are separated, is modulated according to half tone image signals to be recorded. CONSTITUTION:A particle amount of ink liquid drop is found from formula I, where P is a pressure applied to ink, (d) an inner diameter of an orifice, (v) an ink discharge speed, V a particle amount of ink liquid drop, lambda an interval between the ink liquid drops, (f) a transducer driving frequency, and rho an ink density. Thus, if the orifice diameter (d) and the pressure P are maintained constant, it is found that the particle amount V of the ink liquid drops is in reverse proportion to the frequency applied to a transducer. That is, a drop diameter of a picture image can be controlled by the frequency (f). Thereby the gradation is improved by lowering a signal frequency for a driving signal source at a thick density part of the half tone picture image and by raising the frequency at a thin density part.
