Abstract

PURPOSE: To facilitate maunfacturing of hollow parts by means of filament winding method by a method wherein fibers impregnated with liquid material are wound around a core metal of a low melting point alloy, thereafter, the above-described fibers are heated to be cured.
CONSTITUTION: A core metal 11 of a low melting point alloy is formed so as to be consisted of a hollow small diametral portion 12A, hollow large diametral portions 12B and journaled portions 13. This core 11 is attached to a filament winding machine 14 and a hollow part 17 is formed by winding fibers 16 impregnated with liquid resin around an outer peripheral side of the core with a predetermined helical angle while the machine is rotated by an operating portions 15. Subsequently, the core 11 and the hollow part 17, removed from the winding machine 14, are heated in a heating furnace at a temperature lower than a melting point of the core metal 11 to heat and set up the hollow part 17. Next, both of them are heated at a temperature somewhat higher than the melting point of the core metal 11 and the core metal 11 is removed by melting, thereby, the hollow part 17 such as a piston pin or the like can be obtained.
