Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent that a stationary layer is formed at the bottom of a moving bed, by separating the inside of the furnace into a moving bed section and fluidized bed sections by means of partition walls, and forming the floor of said moving bed section with a surface inclined at a specified angle toward portions where the moving bed section is connected to the fluidized bed sections. CONSTITUTION:At a lower portion of the furnace 1 comprising an inlet port 2 located centrally at the top of furnace 1 for charging substances to be treated and an exhaust gas outlet port 3 formed at an upper portion in a side wall, there are provided two longitudinal partition walls 7 for dividing the inner space of the furnace 1 into a central moving bed section 8 and two fluidized bed sections 9 located on the opposite sides of the section 8. The floor of sections 9 is formed by a gas diffusing porous plate 11 which is fixed with a downward inclination angle alpha of 0-20 deg.. On the other hand, the floor of moving bed section 8 is formed in an inverted V-shape symmetrical on the opposite sides thereof, which is constituted by a gas-impermeable plate 16 disposed preferably with a downward inclination angle gamma gamma of 30-40 deg.. Further, at an upper portion in respective fluidized bed sections 9, there are provided deflectors 10 the lower surfaces of which are constituted respectively by a plate 15 having an inclination angle beta of 30-45 deg..
