Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a yellowish luminescence of a high brightness by exciting a fluorescent substance obtained by adding a specific amount of at least one of In, Al, Ga, and Tl to SnO2 and then baking the mixture by a low-speed electron beams.
CONSTITUTION: SnO2 is dipped in an aqueous solution containing at least one of In ion, Al ion, Ga ion, and Tl ion to form a slurry, and then the slurry is evaporated to dryness to obtain a powder which is, in turn, repeatedly baked in the air or an atmosphere of oxygen. For example, at least one of In, Al, Ga, and Tl is added to 1g of SnO2 in a proportion of 10-8W10-1g in terms of In2O3, Al2O3, Ga2O3, or Tl2O3, and then baked to obtain the objective fluorescent substance.
