Abstract

PURPOSE: To produce a stable coloring liquid which is used for "tatami" (straw matting), dries quickly and excels in the color of the tatami, water resistance, heat resistance and light resistance, by a method wherein dyes and a pigment are mixed with a water paint.
CONSTITUTION: A diazo cpd., chlorophyl, and phthalocyanine as dyes, carbon black as a pigment, and TiO2, CaCO3 and clay as fillers are mixed with a water paint consisting of an acrylic ester resin. EFFCT:A new "tatami" which becomes difficultly stained can easily be obtd. by coating a tatami with the coloring liquid, said tatami being discolored to yellowish brown by sunburn.
