Abstract

PURPOSE: The title composition having improved weatherability and interlaminar adhesivity, comprising a combination of a base coating and a top coating paints each composed of a melamine resin and a specific acrylic resin containing a colorant and a UV-absorber.
CONSTITUTION: The title 2-coat, 1-bake-type solid color composition comprising a combination of (I) a base coating solid color enamel composed of (A) 100 parts by weight of a resin mixture consisting of (a) 10W50wt% of a melamine resin, and (b) 90W 50wt% of a thermosetting acrylic resin containing 0W30% of styrene as a comonomer and having a glass transition point of 0W40°C, (B) 1W300 parts of a coloring pigment, and (C) 0.5W10 parts of a UV-absorber, and (II) a top-coating opaque varnish composed of (d) 100 parts by weight of a resin mixture consisting of (c) 10W50wt% of the (a) component and (d) 90W50wt% of a thermosetting acrylic resin having the same composition as the component (b) and having a glass transition point of -10W+30°C, (D)0.1W 10 parts of the (B) component, and (E) 0.5W10 parts of the (C) component.
