Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the titled agent having preventing action on a solid cancer without troublesome purification through dialysis, by treating an extracted solution of rice bran through an alkaline aqueous solution with a water-soluble organic solvent so that harmful impurities are precipitated and removed, followed by neutralization.
CONSTITUTION: For example, rice bran is boiled in 5W20wt. times water to remove hot water-soluble ingredients, e.g., polysaccharides. A basic aqueous solution, e.g., 5wt% aqueous solution of caustic soda is added to the rice bran, which is preferably extracted at 50°C for 10W20hr. An organic solvent miscible with water, e.g., ethanol, etc., is added to the prepared extracted solution in such a way that the solution has 40wt% ethanol concentration so that harmful impurities are precipitated and removed. An acid, e.g., hydrochloric acid, etc. is added to the solution and neutralized to form the desired agent as a precipitate. The prepared product consists of a polar organic solvent-soluble ingredient and an insoluble ingredient, and the former had extremely controlling effect against mouce ascites tumor and the latter has one against mouce solid cancer respectively.
